3 Ruling Colours in Winter Dresses

‘Winter is fashionable’, I am sure many of you will agree with me. I personally find myself experimenting with a lot of vibrant colours (which I can’t think of wearing on a bright summer day), fabric and layers with my winter dresses. Unlike summer days where wearing cotton becomes the norm so as light and pastel colours, it’s only winter and autumn we get to experiment. I usually go for a white or light blue kurta for a summer outing, while I prefer a dark red coat or a blue top for a wintery morning.

Fashion pundits say several things – but you should have guts to listen to your heart. Be it summer or winter, always make sure the colour you are choosing shouldinter  brighten your face and enhance your beauty. Break away from the monotonous black, embrace new colours for the cooler months.

The three trending in winter dresses this season are:

Radiant orchid: As tradition has it in its fashion rule book, that light colours are for summer and dark colours for winter. But this generation hopes to rewrite the rule book and add some new-age colours such as radiant orchid (a blend of fuchsia, pink and purple). It is fresh, lively and the new colour of the season.

Any shades of blue: Be it bright cobalt (bold blue), royal blue or electric blue, you can experiment with any shades of blue. Blue brings energy and positivity and creates a lively atmosphere in the otherwise dull winter days. Royal blue enhances the mystery nature of winter.

Red:  Give your wardrobe a twist by mixing and matching with different shades of red. You can wear red for both day and night. Be it a red cocktail dress or an aurora red cardigan - this colour is going to stay for the times to come. The adventurous in you doesn’t want to go unnoticed. Since time immemorial, the colour red speaks out loud about one’s personality and attitude. So go ahead and make a style statement with your all time favourite red coat.

Apart from these, you can also try new-age, innovative colours such as yellow, misted yellow, cognac, mauve mist, etc. If you are not getting few of the colour names, it’s time you should upgrade your fashion skills. And also if you don’t find any of the given colours are missing from your wardrobe, then it’s also time to bring some new guests to your wardrobe.
